No Spelling or Homework this week!!!
I had some parents concerned about the amount of items assigned on Pearson in the reading and math. I thought I would try to explain a little about the online homework. Sometimes you will see assignments that need to be printed out. Those worksheets are automatically assigned by the computer based on how the student scored on a quiz or a test. It targets the specific skill that needs more work and assigns a worksheet. Some parents are frustrated because there are 15+ worksheets assigned. We do not grade those worksheets and do not expect for those to come back to school. However those are a great resource for you as a parent to look through and pick and choose a few areas to work with your student. I know it is overwhelming if you see so many assignments due within a week or two. The main point is to help you see where you can help your student. Use your judgment on what you want your student to complete. Remember that Reading Street is totally optional, but the math lessons are required so they get the reinforcement in English. If you have further questions let me know.
