Announcements:

If you haven't signed up for parent teacher conferences please do so ASAP the window closes Oct 31st.

On Halloween please have your students bring their costume to school to change into during lunch recess.  We are trying to keep the chaos to a minimum that day.  We will be having our Halloween celebrations after lunch so we can focus on academics in the morning.

Don't forget Thursday and Friday are early out days so the teachers have a few hours to work on report cards.

This week because of the early out day on Thursday the Blue class will have library on Wednesday.  Please help your student remember to bring their books to school that day.

English:

Our question of the week this week is, "How has working together changed history?" We will be reading a story about Abraham Lincoln.  We will be learning the elements of a biography.  Our phonics skill we are working on is contractions.

Math:

We are going to take this week and review what we have taught so far.  We will be reteaching any concepts that need further instruction.  One thing the students have been struggling with is problem solving.  You can practice this at home, give them a simple story problem to solve.  Sometimes the hardest part for them is figuring out if they need to add or subtract.

French:

We are learning the /en/ /em/ sounds this week.

 Social Studies:

We will be talking about the different cultures we can find in our community.  There is so much we can learn from each other, even if we aren't from another country, we all have traditions and beliefs that make us different than others.
