Announcements:

Thank you parents for helping out with our Halloween carnival and also being supportive of having them change into their costumes at lunch time.  We were able to get a lot of work done in the morning.

We are sending home the report cards Monday so please look for that.  We would like you to look over the report card and come to your parent teacher conference prepared with any questions or concerns you might have.  Don't forget to bring your student with you.  If you signed up for a time during school we will pull your student out of class so they can participate in the conference with us.

English:

Our question of the week this week is, "How can we work together to meet people's needs?" We will be reading a story called Scarcity.  It basically teaches them a little bit about supply and demand.  Our phonics pattern is r-controlled vowels with er, ir, ur.  We will also be talking about facts and details.

Math:

We are beginning to learn about money.  Topic 5 will be assigned online so have your student work on that at home.  You can also have them practice counting coins.  Vocabulary words that we will work on are: penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half-dollar.

French:

We are learning the /en/ /ent/ sounds this week.

 Social Studies:

We will finish talking about the different cultures and we will be talking about famous landmarks and monuments.
