Announcements:
We are SO happy about having some better weather this week!  As a reminder students will be outside unless it is colder that 22 degrees, or the air quality is above 90 PM 2.5 (you can find air quality information at www.airquality.utah.gov).  Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for the weather and the snow. 

English: 

We are beginning a new unit this week.  The big idea is Our Changing World. This week our question of the week is, "How can familiar things help us with changes?" We will be reading, A Froggy Fable. It is a about how a frog deals with other changes in his life and the lesson he learns as he tries to adjust to those changes.
Writing skill: We are learning how to write a friendly letter.
Our phonics /spelling pattern: final syllable -le
 Comprehension skill: We are learning about drawing conclusions, and building background. 
Conventions: We are learning about adjectives Vocabulary skill: multiple-meaning words
Fluency skill:accuracy and appropriate rate

Math:

We are still working on subtracting with regrouping, but we are also working on geometry.

French:

We are learning the  /eu/ /oeu/ sounds this week.

 Science:

How does the world change?  We will begin talking about rocks.
