Our question of the week is, "Why are some changes difficult?" We will be reading, The Night the Moon Fell. It explains how the Maya people made up a myth long ago to try to explain a natural event that happens in the sky.

Math:

Please make sure that students have completed topic 11 on the online math homework.  Students should also begin working on topic 12 on fractions.  We have been talking about symmetry, translation, reflection, and rotation.  Also something you can work with your child at home would be rounding to the nearest ten.  (ex: 44 would round to 40, 67 would round to 70).  Rounding is a skill that hasn't been taught in the French class, but only in English.  Rounding is very helpful when we are estimating sums or differences.  A great real world example of rounding is going grocery shopping and estimating how much everything will cost.

French:

We are learning the /g/  /gu/ sounds this week.

 Science:

We are talking about the phases of the moon.
