Weekly News

Important Dates:

April 10 - Field Trip

Announcements:
It has been a crazy few weeks I apologize that there wasn't a post last week and this week's post is a little late.

We are completely out of kleenex.  We can use some that the school has but they are not very soft when you have a runny nose.  If you would like to donate any boxes of tissues to our classes we would appreciate it!

Also we have had a hard time getting our parent volunteers signed up to help in the classroom.  If you are able or willing to help out please follow the instructions below:
  • We're using VolunteerSpot (the leading online signup and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming activity.
  • Please sign up for 2nd Grade Parent Volunteers - here's how it works in 3 easy steps:
    • 1. Click this link to go to our invitation page on VolunteerSpot: http://vols.pt/68hF3y
    • 2. Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on VolunteerSpot)
    • 3. Sign up! Choose your spots - VolunteerSpot will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Easy!
  •  Note: VolunteerSpot does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact me and I can sign you up manually.
Thank you to Mrs. Lancaster who has been organizing the parent volunteers for me!!!!

English:

We are on our unit review week.  We are going over the concepts we have talked about the last 5 weeks.  You children should have already mastered these concepts, there is no new material it's all a review.

The homework packet that came home this week is to help them prepare for the Unit test we will take on Friday.  It is all comprehension which is what most of the students struggle with.  Please help your child review the concepts found in the homework packet to help them be prepared for the test.

Also as a reminder when you log into Successnet and look up Reading Street, the computer will assign worksheets on the concepts your child has not yet mastered.  These are not required, however they are concepts that should be reviewed at home.

Math:

We are working on graphs and are starting to work on numbers and patterns to 1,000.  We will be looking at skip counting, comparing numbers and looking for patterns.
Topic 15 and 16 have been assigned online.  Please make sure that those are completed.

French:

We are talking about words ending with ps, d, and t, and words starting with h.

 Science:

We are talking about French speaking Africa.
