Announcements:
French book orders are coming home today, if you are interested. Again don't feel obligated, we are just trying to give you some resources, if you would like some French books at home, remember we do have quite a few French books in our school library available for students to check out each week.
English:
We are on Unit 5 Week 4. The question of the week is, "How can we be
responsible friends and neighbors?" We will be reading a fantasy story called Horace, Morris, but Mostly Deloris, and will be talking about how to be responsible for working out problems to solutions.
Comprehension strategy- We are talking about character and setting. This is something some students still haven't mastered, so this is a great opportunity to show that your student has reached mastery by being able to identify the characters and settings of the stories we read this week.
Spelling strategy- We are learning consonant patterns. gh, ng, ck, ph
Conventions- We are continuing to learn about pronouns. This week we are talking about possessive pronouns.
Math:
We are working on fractions as well as starting to learn about time.
French:
This week are learning the /g/ and /gu/ sounds.
Science:
We will be learning about the stars.
