Announcements:
Don't forget there are only three days of school for your student's this week. However I will still be giving a spelling and reading test.
The first cut off day for the Bobcat award is February 12th. I will be giving you a copy of their Bobcat award paper in their conference folder for you to look over. If there are things that you feel should be signed off just let me know and we can sign them off. Remember if they don't meet the first cut off date, they still can earn their bobcat award later in the year, and they still get the same award.
We are on our last few boxes of Kleenex and hand sanitizer, if you have a box or bottle you would like to donate we would appreciate it. Thanks!
English:
This week we are on Unit 4 Week 2
The question of the week is, "How do plants change over time?" We are a nonfiction story called the life cycle of a pumpkin. We will learn about the process of how a pumpkin starts out as a seed and ends up as a full grown pumpkin.
Spelling Patterns: vowel sounds, oo, and u
Comprehension Strategy: sequencing
Conventions: This week we are talking about adjectives can describe number, size and shape.
PE : a french game "promenons nous dans les bois"
French : we will prepare the reading for Gafi 46. The spelling test scheduled for the 2nd is reported to monday feb 9th.
Math: We will be continuing topic 9 which is two digit subtraction with regrouping. It can sometimes take a lot longer for students to understand how to regroup when subtracting, so if you notice your student isn't quite understanding you might just want to take a few minutes at home to reinforce the concepts we went through in school. Pearson succesnet has videos, quizzes, and extra practice available with the Envision math to help as a support at home.
