I have been rather neglectful the last two weeks and haven't posted. I actually started the post, but never finished or published it, I apologize.
Report cards will come home on Tuesday. Some of your students might have gone done from a 3 to a 2 from first term to second term. That is okay, and it happens. When I have a student that is really close between a 3 and a 2 I tend to round down. I would rather let you know we need to do more work, than give a false sense of security and then have a surprise on the end of year report card. As always if you do get the report card and have questions please email me. We can always set up a time for you to come in and we can go over any questions or concerns as well. I know from having my own family members constantly calling me after report cards come home trying to interpret what things mean that they aren't always easy to read. I'm here to answer any questions. Your students always come first!
English:
This week we are on Unit 4 Week 6.
That means it is review week. We have our big 40 question test we spread out throughout the week.
The skills we are reviewing and testing are:
Spelling: 1) Final syllable -le, 2) oo, u, 3) ou, ow, oy, oi, 4) syllable patterns vc/cv and vc/v 5) oo, ue, ew, ui
Comprehension: Fact and Opinion, Sequence, Plot and Theme
Conventions: Adjectives and Adverbs
Math: We are finishing topic 10 and will have a test on Tuesday. Then we will begin topic 11.
