Short Week

Important Dates:
Jan. 20- No School
Jan. 30 - PTA Hawaiian Night
Feb. 8 -  Bobcat Award Cut off
Feb. 20 - No School

We hope you enjoyed having Monday off to celebrate MLK.  Please remember that Thursday is an early out day, there is no school on Friday.  It is a teacher work day.

Because of the short week there are no spelling words or homework.  The students are SO happy.

In English class this week we are working on math.  We've found that there are vocabulary words we need to reinforce and especially need help with money.
We will be working on addition and subtraction using the words: regrouping, borrowing, and carrying.
We will be working with money using the words: value, cent, half dollar, quarter, dime, nickel, and penny.

One thing you can do with your student in place of the homework this week is give them the change in your pocket, or wallet and have them count it.  We especially have a hard time remembering the difference between a quarter and a nickel.

French sounds: im, aim, un/ um
Science: Non living things, (physical changes)
Math: coins and regrouping
