This week we are on Unit 1 Week 6. This is a review week. We go through all the skills we have learned the last 5 weeks. It is a lot of information to review, but thankfully it is just a review. If students mastered the concepts the first time it is a pretty easy week, but it is a great chance for those students that have not mastered the skills yet to get a second chance.
The spelling test this week is taken from all the spelling lists the last 5 weeks, I choose any 15 words from the list. It can seem pretty overwhelming, but again it is just a review. The kids have all been tested on these words before and they should still remember them.
The homework I sent home this week is a good example of the type of stories we read. Students need to be able to identify fact and details, as well as character and setting.
French: We are reviewing some class vocabulary and will start a new Gafi sound. Because there is no school on Friday the French spelling test will be on Thursday, so the students can be prepared for that.
Songs : We will reviewing the songs we've learned so far.
PE: We will play the "trois petits cochons" song.
Math: We are taking the topic 2 test and will start topic 3 which will teach subtraction strategies.
